Are You Ready to Make a Real Difference?

We are looking for passionate individuals to join our team in Ipswich. If you want to support individuals in leading fulfilling lives, this role is for you!

Who You’ll Be Supporting:

You’ll be supporting three wonderful gentlemen, all in their 20s and 30s, who require personalised support in a friendly and engaging environment.

What Does the Role Entail?

As a Support Worker, your primary responsibility will be to provide 1:1 support to these active gentlemen, ensuring that their physical and emotional needs are met. You will be there to assist them with daily activities and encourage them to engage in a variety of enjoyable experiences, such as:

  • Going for walks and enjoying the fresh air.
  • Visiting the cinema to catch the latest films or enjoying local music events.
  • Participating in swimming sessions or other outdoor activities that promote a healthy lifestyle.
  • Supporting their connections with family and friends through regular visits and shared experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

Your role will include:

  • Providing full assistance with personal care needs. The people we support may not always communicate their needs verbally, so your ability to read non-verbal cues and offer gentle support is essential.
  • Assisting them with feeding by offering gentle prompts to ensure they enjoy their meals, as they can become bored with eating. You will be a crucial part of their daily routine, helping them feel engaged and motivated.
  • Supporting them with their medication needs and ensuring they receive the correct dosages in a timely manner.
  • Encouraging them to express their preferences and make choices in their daily lives.
  • Helping to establish a safe and nurturing atmosphere where the gentlemen feel relaxed and secure.

We understand the importance of maintaining a healthy work/life balance. That’s why we provide your rota at least four weeks in advance. Shifts are typically from 7:30 am to 2:00 pm or 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm, including sleep-ins and waking nights.

What We’re Looking For:

We seek individuals who have a genuine passion for supporting others. Here’s what you should bring to the table:

  • You will be working with people who have their own unique ways of communicating. Patience and understanding are key qualities that will help you connect with them.
  • The ability to adapt to the varying needs of the gentlemen and the unpredictable nature of the role is essential.
  • Working closely with other staff members, including a team of 3 to 4 on shift at any one time, you’ll need to collaborate effectively.
  • Having a valid driver’s license, as one of the gentlemen has his own mobility car, and outings are an important part of his routine.

Why Join Us?

When you join our team, you are not just taking on a job; you are becoming part of a caring community that believes in enhancing the lives of individuals with disabilities. You’ll receive comprehensive training and support to ensure you feel confident in your role.

This position offers you the chance to grow personally and professionally, developing your skills while making a genuine impact on the lives of the people we support. If you’re ready to embark on a rewarding journey with us and support our gentlemen in living their best lives, we would love to hear from you!
